Spinnerbait Tip for Deep Ledges
Author: swljoe | Filed under: Fishing Articles, Tips and TacticsYuma BassMan Bob La Londe offers a suggestion for reaching greater depths with your spinnerbait:
On those rare occasions when you want to get a little deeper with your spinnerbait, but can’t seem to pull it as fast as you like try sliding a pegged tungsten worm weight onto the line ahead of the bait. This will keep you with a smaller profile, and allow you to retrieve at a slightly faster speed without going to larger bait or downsizing your blades.
Another ways to accomplish this is to remove the insert from a rubber-core sinker and position it on the spinnerbait frame just in front of the head or on the hook shaft under the skirt. Use pliers to compress the slotted sinker around the frame or hook.

A good way to increase casting distance with small spinnerbaits (1/8 oz) – Take a couple Storm SuspenStrips and wrap them just below the neck of the skirt on the hook shaft. Perfect for keeping a small profile and adding casting distance for those tough fisheries like the Ohio River.
Secret Weapon Prostaffer Justin Hires wraps lead solder around the shank for the same purpose.
