I did get it fixed. It was a bad wire in the foot. Glad I only had to spend 20 bucks.

What I ended up doing was having Dover Marine rebuild my older MotorGuide trolling motor, converting it from an analog motor to a digital model.
It ended up costing (after labor and taxes) about $400.00, but it functions like a new motor, which it essentially is now.
If you have problems with a MotorGuide, you might want to consider a digital install…

I went through the same thing earlier this spring and couldn't find a darned thing. And it's ridiculous what people are getting for used trolling motors!
All I can suggest is eBay, Craig's List and check with marinas in your area that sell/repair trolling motors. Sometimes you can find a trade-in model for a reasonable price.
There is a website called Lake-Link.com and I noticed a couple days ago that someone had a 24 volt, 70 lb. thrust TM listed for sale. But you'd have to pay shipping and I don't know what that would cost.
